CONNECTION.

It’s the secret sauce of the human experience.

When we’re connected, we thrive.

Connected to our families & friends.

Connected to our bodies & souls.

Connected to our passions & ambitions.

Your portrait session should be all about connection.

When you (or your friends & family) view your portraits—whether it’s weeks or months or years after your session—they should feel connected to your story.

It was the best photography experience I’ve ever had. You are our photographer for life!

1. How we tell your story

You’ve got enough going on in your busy life. When you book a portrait session with me, don’t put pressure on yourself to plan, curate, and coordinate.

You’ve got me, babe!

After you book your session, I’ll send you a session guide to kickstart our planning “process.” This guide will help give you a general idea of how your session will go, and maybe spark a few ideas, too. I’ll also send you an online Q&A form to help me gather a vision for your session. Not the written Q&A type? I’m always more than happy to meet virtually for a cup of coffee instead!

After you’ve shared a bit of your heart with me, I’ll work on a vision for your session. The concept I create for you includes everything we’ll need to create the visual story that is your lifestyle session: a setting/location, a mood/vibe, and a color palette for wardrobe. If you already have one or more of these pieces in mind, great! If not, I’m here to help.

2. The adventure begins

Thanks to our careful planning, your soulful approach to your portrait session, and my gift for storytelling, the day of your session will be a walk in the park… or a stroll on the beach. (Literally)

If you’ve ever approached a portrait session with a pit in your stomach, dreading the forced smiles and stiff poses, I feel you. I’ve been there. I never want to go there again, and I don’t want you to, either!

Hopefully, the more you get to know me as we prepare for your session, any fear of imperfection will fall away. But just in case you wake up the morning of your session and feel stressed or anxious, remember. Your story is more than stiff smiles and awkward poses. It’s bear hugs, it’s having people to lean on, it might even be a meltdown at some point. I’m okay with that. We are okay with that. This is your story. We’re going to have fun with it!

3. Your magic, for keeps.

All that love & connection that you never want to let go of—guess what? You don’t have to. You’ve got tangible proof. We are here. We live with our whole hearts.

Each of my lifestyle sessions include a a gallery of 25+ of the best high resolution digital images from your session, so you can print your favorites as many times as you’d like.

Our two-year old daughter pushed through me & my husband to give her a big hug, then later waved goodbye calling her “Auntie” as we were leaving! If that doesn’t speak volumes to how friendly, warm-hearted, and personable she is, I honestly don’t know what does! Thank you so much, Emily... and welcome to the family ;)
