What is included in my session fee?

Your $250 session fee includes the planning process, your on location portrait session, and 30+ hand edited high resolution digital images.

Do you have a studio?

I do not have a studio. All of my sessions take place either on location or in home.

What if my children misbehave?

Oh… let’s count on it! As a mama of 3, I absolutely understand this fear (and the reality of it, too!) But don’t worry—I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve. I encourage you to try to let it roll off your shoulders as much as possible, and just go with the flow. I know how hard it can be to stay calm when you feel pressure to look and act a certain way, so I’ll assure you… there’s no pressure here! We can work around most big feelings, and after the kids get to know me a bit, they almost always truly enjoy the session.

Where will we go for our outdoor shoot?

There are so many options! What suits you? Really—that’s the most important part of choosing a location. We’ll want to pick something that matches your aesthetic and, ideally, somewhere that is special to you. I have a few locations that I love, but I’ll work with you to decide on just the right spot.

What happens if the weather is bad?

What I wouldn’t give to be able to flip a switch on bad weather! Weather happens, but we have options. You may choose to instead do an indoor session in your home. Otherwise, we can brave some weather situations (heavy rain is out of question, though). If the weather forecast looks like it may be unbearable the morning of your session, I’ll give you a call and we’ll work together to find a suitable option, which may be rescheduling.

What if I want to go somewhere further away for my session?

I typically stay around the Columbus area. But, if you have your heart set on a specific location that’s further away, we can discuss traveling for a small fee.

Do you travel for photo sessions?

I’m absolutely open to it! I’d love to discuss options with you.

Are any prints or digitals included with my session fee? Do I have to buy a package?

You’ll receive high resolution digital copies of the best images from your session (typically 30-45). At this time, I do not offer printing services for lifestyle sessions. However, I will give you suggestions for my favorite printing labs—and a referral discount, of course!

Can you fix blemishes, dry skin, etc.?

Absolutely. Basic retouch is included in your session fee. The images you see in your final gallery will be fully retouched.

How many images will I see in my session gallery?

Most sessions yield about 30-50 proof images.

I just need one portrait taken. Can you do this?

I take a variety of portraits in different poses and interactions, both of individual family members and all of you together. The result is a collection of images that tell the story of your relationships and personalities. Often, the best images come from the end of the session when everyone is the most relaxed! Taking just one photograph wouldn’t likely give great results.

Why can’t I see all of the images from my session?

You wouldn’t want to! I take a LOT of photos throughout the session to ensure I don’t miss the most precious opportunities to tell your story. But, within those photos are some funny faces, duplicates, and… well, the number can be truly overwhelming!

How long after the shoot will my proofing gallery be available?

Within 10-14 days of your portrait session, your gallery will be online to view. Your gallery link will be delivered via email.

How will I select which images I want to order?

It can be a tough decision! I’m available to help guide you through the process. If you need an extra set of eyes to help narrow down your favorites, I’m always happy to offer my opinion on which images best convey your story.

Do you offer payment plans or credit?

You can pay for any portion of your session or products using PayPal Credit, which can be applied for online. If payment plans are more your style, I offer those, too. I’m happy to offer more information on either of these options.

Why are you more expensive than other photographers?

Finding the right photographer for your family can be a confusing, somewhat daunting task. When you’re having custom art created, you don’t want to choose just anyone to create it… but the variation of prices can be tricky to navigate.

I wholeheartedly believe that, in order to create gorgeous images that you’ll connect with forever, we need to tell a story. And to tell that story, I have to make sure you have a stress-free, easy-to-navigate experience. So our work together begins the day you book—not just the day of your session! I commit myself to delivering a creative, custom experience from start to finish, taking the pressure off of you to plan and come up with a vision for your session. I tailor each session to the needs and style of that client, delivering a luxury experience every time.

I use professional, well cared for equipment to ensure the quality of your final product is excellent, too. Whether you just want digitals or artwork for your walls, you can expect a high end product to be delivered.
